Who we support

The Helpmann Academy empowers South Australia’s most promising emerging creatives to realise their visions and build sustainable practices.

We partner with South Australia’s Universities and TAFE to provide students, staff and graduates with professional development opportunities including grants and awards, mentorships, masterclasses, advisory services and international artist residencies.

We support students and graduates (for up to five years from the final year of study) from the following programs:

Adelaide College of the Arts (TAFE SA)

  • Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Arts) offered in conjunction with Flinders University
  • Bachelor of Creative Arts (Dance) offered in conjunction with Flinders University
  • Advanced Diploma of Arts (Acting)

Flinders University 

  • Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting)
  • Bachelor of Creative Arts (Directing)
  • Bachelor of Creative Arts (Screen)
  • Bachelor of Creative Arts (Dance) offered in conjunction with TAFESA
  • Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Arts) offered in conjunction with TAFESA

The University of Adelaide (Elder Conservatorium of Music)

  • Bachelor of Music (all majors)

The University of South Australia

  • Bachelor of Contemporary Art (formerly Bachelor of Visual Arts)

Honours study
Honours students and graduates are eligible for support if the Honours year of study occurred in direct succession of an eligible undergraduate degree at a partner institution.

Postgraduate studies
Masters and PhD candidates and graduates are eligible for some of our programs. Please contact Helpmann for eligibility details.
