It might not come naturally to everyone but there’s no denying that being on social media as an artist is a must-do. It helps you to be discoverable, make local and international connections and develop audience relationships.

But which channels? What to post? How many hashtags? To pay for advertising or to not pay for advertising? We’ll answer these questions and more at this session on strategic social media for artists, so you’ll walk away ready to take your social media to the next level.

About Alicia
Alicia is the Head of Marketing at Freerange Future; a creative, marketing and digital agency working with non-profit organisations and the arts. She’s worked on both brand and agency side with sole traders, global brands and everything in between. Alicia has spent the past 5 years specialising in digital marketing and incorporating online platforms into holistic marketing strategies.

The series aims to empower emerging visual and performing artists with practical knowledge to help build and sustain a successful creative career.

The Activate Seminar Series will present guest artists, specialists and panels covering a range of topics such as contract and intellectual property law, income and funding options, marketing and publicity, and more.

WHEN: Wednesday 17 April, 5:15pm for a 5:30pm start – 7:30pm, followed by networking drinks.

WHERE: St Paul’s Creative Centre, 200 Pulteney St, Kaurna Yarta, Adelaide

COST: $10 / FREE for students and graduates (up to 5 years out) of Helpmann Academy’s partner institutions (Adelaide College of the Arts, UniSA Visual Arts, Flinders University Drama and Screen studies, and Elder Conservatorium of Music). Click here for more info.
