Hilton Adelaide Emerging Artist Commission
Helpmann Academy is delighted to be partnering with Hilton Adelaide to deliver the Hilton Adelaide Emerging Artist Commission, valued at up to $25,000.
Previously awarded to artist Tom Borgas, Hilton Adelaide is again commissioning a contemporary artwork to be placed in the hotel’s foyer, opposite the reception desk. It is intended the commission will enhance the entrance to the Hilton Adelaide building and that the work should be welcoming and contribute to the ambience of the space. The hotel lobby is a high traffic and operational area where hotel staff, guests, business clients and members of the community will view the work daily.
This commission is an opportunity for final year students or graduates from one of Helpmann’s partner institutions to gain valuable experience in developing public art and site-specific commissions.
Submissions are open to individuals or teams of students/graduates, provided all applicants meet the eligibility criteria. The successful applicant(s) will be encouraged to work with an established mentor with a focus on delivering public art commissions.
A briefing session with Rupert Hallam, General Manager, Hilton Adelaide will be held at the Hilton Adelaide on Wednesday 23 October, at 3.00pm (please note that the briefing session has been re-scheduled from the previous date of Wednesday 16 October).
The session will provide artists with the opportunity to view the space, hear more about the hotel, and ask questions regarding the intended space for installation, requirements and ideas.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP to [email protected] with your name and contact number.
