2017 Residency & Masterclass Series with Niv Marinberg (Israel)
Presented in partnership with The Mill and Adelaide College of the Arts.
Niv Marinberg’s residency at Adelaide College of the Arts (AC Arts) is a series of masterclasses with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year AC Arts dance students, open to the independent dance community.
Both emerging and established dance artists are welcome to attend these sessions. Participants can choose from a large selection of classes over the three weeks, which have been designed to integrate with the community’s diverse schedules.
Classes will be predominantly based on improvisation, drawing from Niv’s depth of experience in this area.
Niv is currently undertaking a M.A. at Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, researching the correspondence and intuitive reaction of movement to music. His classes will integrate his study in this area, focussing on the intuition of the dancer in relation to rhythm and melody within music.
The masterclasses will culminate in two x three hour intensives on the final Thursday and Friday, including a public showing.
It is recommended that participants attend four or more individual sessions to gain the full benefit of the intensive sessions.
