Theatre Masterclasses with Gerrard McArthur (UK)

In partnership with Helpmann Academy, acclaimed independent theatre company Flying Penguin Productions are providing a series of free masterclasses for emerging actors with leading UK actor, director, and teacher Gerrard McArthur.

Gerrard McArthur is a medal winning Graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, an Associate Artist with acclaimed London based company The Wresting School, and has a distinguished career primarily working on language based texts with some of Europe’s great production houses.

His outstanding career as an actor, his rich involvement in the realisation of seminal contemporary productions of language based plays, his capacity to teach and inspire, and his ongoing relationship with SA theatre provides a unique opportunity for graduate actors to broaden their skills and be exposed to new and exciting techniques.

Open to emerging actors up to 5 years out from graduation from Adelaide College of the Arts (TAFE SA) and Flinders University Drama Centre, the 3-day series of masterclasses will provide artists with a particular interest in heightened language techniques to gain valuable insight into Gerrard’s approach, and have the opportunity to workshop his methods.

Interested applicants are asked to submit a brief application, outlining their interest in the program. Applications can be completed here.

Applications close Friday 3 November.
