JamFactory Associate Program Funding

The Helpmann Academy is thrilled to announce that the recipient of the JamFactory Associate Program Funding is Lauren Murphy.

Lauren is an emerging ceramicist, sculptor and a graduate from the University of South Australia, who was a recent recipient of the George Street Studios residency, also through Helpmann.

The JamFactory Associate Program is designed to accelerate development of the professional and entrepreneurial skills required to establish and maintain a successful and sustainable creative career.

Lauren says she excited to learn new skills from the many professionals and associates across a number of mediums in the program.

“I feel extremely grateful for this opportunity from Helpmann Academy, and their ongoing support during 2021. As the George Street Studios Residency comes to an end, I am looking forward to continuing to explore and expand my ceramic practice alongside others working in the fields of glass, furniture, ceramics and jewellery/metal at The Jam Factory during 2022. This program will allow me the space to design a range of ceramic products through my individual creative practice, as well as mentorship from experienced professionals. I aim to develop new skills while wheel-throwing, hand building, glazing and slip casting.”

Lauren will commence in the program in 2022.
