Project Curator 2021 Graduate Exhibition

8 December 2020

The Helpmann Academy is thrilled to announce the Project Curator for the 2021 Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition, Eleanor Amor.

Eleanor, a graduate from the University of South Australia, will undertake a mentorship with Curatorial Mentor, Patrice Sharkey (Artistic Director, ACE Open) to mount the revered exhibition in 2021.

As the Project Curator recipient, Eleanor’s duties will range from assisting with selections, designing the layout, working with artists, and installation and de-installation over the period from December 2020 to February 2021.

Eleanor is excited to take the next step in her creative practice and to cut her teeth on such a prominent exhibition.

“I’m incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to develop my skills as a curator. I’m excited to learn the ins and outs of putting on such a large-scale exhibition and be a part of such an important show for South Australian graduates. With the support of Helpmann I am able to push myself to learn a range of new skills and build new connections with artists, curators and industry professionals.”

The role provides Eleanor with a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on a high-profile exhibition that brings together the next generation of emerging creatives working across a range of mediums. She will be supported through her mentorship with Patrice Sharkey to develop her understanding of how to design a space, communicate with exhibiting artists, oversee an installation, and create a cohesive and impactful exhibition.

The 2021 Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition runs from Friday 29 January to Saturday 13 February 2021 at ACE Open, Lion Arts Centre, North Terrace.
