215 Magill Studios Residency

Helpmann Academy’s 215 Magill Studios Residency provides an emerging South Australian artist with a 12-month studio residency at 215 Magill Studios, suitable for artists working across a wide range of mediums.

The selected artist will be awarded a rent-free shared studio space, providing them the critical time, space, and freedom to both create new work, and develop their career.

Located within five kilometres of the Adelaide CBD, 215 Magill Studios is a newly developed artistic hub, with multiple studios and common facilities. The studio is 60m2 shared with two other artists (approximately 12m2 each). Additional spaces may also be utilised, including a workshop area equipped with workbenches and basic machinery available by negotiation.

Interested applicants are welcome to email [email protected] to register their interest in a studio tour prior to submitting an application.

Building security is in place, with 24 hour access, and WiFi is available.

The dedicated studio space at 215 Magill Road, Maylands, represents an opportunity for an artist to freely create and develop new work; providing a productive environment to expand their practice by experimenting with new materials and techniques, or having the space to work on larger scale pieces.

The residency is open to visual artists, up to five years following their final year of study from the Helpmann Academy’s partner institutions.
