Prelude Composer Residency Program

With the support of Arts South Australia, we are delighted to be partnering with Bundanon Trust and the National Trust of South Australia to bring the Prelude residencies to Adelaide. Residencies in Adelaide are available to Australian songwriters and composers.

The Prelude program has been created specifically for composers. Designed to establish the time and space needed to create new works, it allows composers to focus on their craft while residing in a heritage listed Australian home.

Musical creators from any genre and stage of their career are invited to apply for this unique opportunity. The three successful applicants will be offered long-term residence in one of three heritage listed homes in Adelaide, Perth or Sydney, plus a stipend.

The Helpmann Academy is delighted to be part of this unique collaboration between Bundanon Trust, Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers Trust, The National Trust of Western Australia, the National Trust of South Australia, The National Trusts of Australia, APRA AMCOS, Arts SA and the Australian Government through the Australia Council.

The program builds on the established residency at Peggy Glanville-Hicks’ home in Paddington, Sydney and is managed by Bundanon Trust.

Applications for the 2020 Prelude Composer Residency closed on 5 August 2019.

The recipients will be announced soon.
