The Helpmann Academy ACE Open Residency

The Helpmann Academy provides an emerging South Australian artist with a 12-month studio residency at ACE Open, South Australia’s flagship contemporary art space.

One eligible artist will be awarded a rent-free, city-based studio space with 24/7 access, providing them the critical time, space, support and freedom to both create new work, and develop their career.

In addition to being provided with a studio, the selected artist will be given opportunities to broaden their practice and audiences through public programs, studio visits with visiting curators, professional development and enhanced connection with the ACE Open community.

Graduates from Helpmann’s visual arts partner institutions within five years following their final year of study, are eligible to apply. Honours graduates are also eligible to apply providing honours study was undertaken in direct succession following their undergraduate degree, and they are within five years following their final year of honours study. You can check eligibility here.

Applicants must be currently based in South Australia. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists are strongly encouraged to apply.
